How to Support Idols

There is hope for a new way of idols treatment in the future. People are starting to speak up about their dislike of company policies, and criticizing them for their decisions. After the Hyuna and E’Dawn scandal there has been a lot of backlash against Cube for the way they handled the situation. Some people have gone to the extreme and boycotted Cube and all of their artists, because they want the company to go out of business. Hyuna and E’Dawn have had the opposite reaction from the public. The K-Pop community has been extremely supportive of their relationship, and they were both taken in by a new label. As a result of this new mindset some labels have also started to change. One example is JYP Entertainment. Last year J.Y. Park released a statement that idols and staff cannot work past 10 in the evening in his company. I think it is important for fans to hold companies accountable for their actions and support their idols when scandals are leaked. I do have hope that one day companies will become better and treat their idols better.
